This Privacy Policy describes how Honey Brûlée collects, uses, and shares information about you when you visit honeybrulee.com (the "Site"), purchase a product, subscribe to our email list, send us a message on Instagram, or otherwise interact with our brand.
1. Information We Collect
Information you give us directly
- Name and email address — when you sign up for our newsletter, download a free guide, or buy a cookbook
- Phone number — only if you opt in to SMS messages from us at checkout
- Payment information — collected and processed by Stripe; we do not see or store your full card details
- Mailing address — only if you purchase a physical product (we currently sell digital products only)
- Messages you send us — content of any DM, email, or SMS conversation you have with us
- Survey responses, reviews, and testimonials — if you submit them voluntarily
Information collected automatically
- Basic technical data — IP address, browser type, device type, operating system, referring URL, time of visit
- Cookies and similar technologies — to remember your shopping cart, preferences, and login state (see Section 9)
- Email engagement — when you open our emails or click links in them (collected by Flodesk)
- Site engagement — page visits, time on page, click patterns (only if you have not opted out of analytics)
Information from third parties
- From Instagram and TikTok — when you DM us with a keyword, we receive your username and message contents through ManyChat
- From Stripe — purchase confirmations, payment status, dispute notifications
- From Amazon Associates — aggregate, anonymized commission reports (we do not see what you personally bought)
2. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Deliver the products you purchase (cookbooks, guides, bonuses)
- Send you the emails you signed up for (free guides, nurture sequence, weekly newsletter, product updates)
- Send you transactional SMS messages if you opt in
- Respond to your messages, questions, and customer service requests
- Process payments and prevent fraud
- Improve our recipes, our content, and our user experience
- Comply with legal obligations (tax records, FTC disclosure, fraud reporting)
- Detect and prevent abuse, fraud, or violations of our Terms
We do not sell your personal information. Ever.

We share information only with the service providers that help us run the business, and only to the extent necessary:

We do not share your personal information with advertisers, data brokers, or other companies for marketing purposes.
4. How Long We Keep Your Information
- Email subscribers: until you unsubscribe, plus 30 days for cleanup
- Customers: for the life of your relationship with us, plus 7 years after your last purchase (for tax and accounting records)
- SMS subscribers: until you reply STOP, plus 30 days for record-keeping
- Payment records: 7 years (US tax requirement)
5. Your Rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the following rights:
- Access — request a copy of the personal information we have about you
- Correction — ask us to correct inaccurate information
- Deletion — ask us to delete your information (subject to legal retention requirements)
- Portability — ask us to provide your data in a machine-readable format
- Opt-out of marketing — unsubscribe from emails, reply STOP to SMS, or block us on Instagram
- Withdraw consent — withdraw consent you previously gave for any specific data use

6. California Residents (CCPA / CPRA)

7. EU / UK Residents (GDPR)
If you are in the European Union or United Kingdom, you have the rights described above and the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority. The legal bases on which we process your data are: contract performance (to deliver products), consent (for marketing emails, SMS, and analytics), legitimate interest (fraud prevention), and legal obligation (tax compliance).
8. Children's Privacy
Our products and services are not directed to children under 18. We do not knowingly collect information from children. If you believe a child has provided us information, please email us and we will delete it.
9. Cookies and Tracking Technologies
We use cookies and similar technologies on the Site for strictly necessary functions (shopping cart, preferences), functional improvements, and analytics (only if you consent). You can control cookies through your browser settings. Disabling strictly-necessary cookies will break parts of the Site.

No system is 100% secure; in the unlikely event of a data breach, we will notify you within 72 hours where required by law.
